Pelham, Georgia was incorporated in 1881 and was named in honor of Major John Pelham, who was killed during the Civil War. The city is located on the crossroads of U.S. Highway 19 and State Route 93. It is about eight miles south of Camilla. Pelham is home to the first “shopping mall,” The Hand Trading Company Building. Pelham is also an agriculture community, producing crops like cotton, peanuts, and corn. In 2010, Pelham’s population was 4,129 according to the U.S. Census.

Pelham’s annual festival is the Pelham Wildlife Festival, which is held in October.Foods, Harrell Nut Company and Oil Recovery. Camilla is known for producing crops and products such as peanuts, pecans, poultry, cotton, pine trees, cattle, and vegetables, and most of which are further processed in Camilla as well.
