Mitchell County Recreation added a tennis program in November 2002.  They hired a tennis professional and planned a long term investment for bringing the sport to an area of Georgia that is more known for football, basketball, and baseball.
Since November 2002 Mitchell County has built a 9 court facility with 3 clay courts, 6 hard, and a clubhouse.   Throughout the year over 200 kids & adults participate weekly in different tennis programs being offered.
