Mitchell County Pro Tennis Invitational

Also known as the “Thrilla in Camilla”. This event is a highlight of the senior-pro tour each year; this tournament has attracted over two dozen touring professionals for over twenty-five years. The Mitchell County Tennis Invitational is the most famous tennis event of its kind in Georgia and probably the United States. It has raised more than $1 million and given over $900,000 for charities. We also received the Senior Service Award (2006) at the 2007 USTA convention in Tucson, Arizona. This is the first time the USTA has given this award to the southern division of the USTA.

Gnat Days Festival

This yearly tribute to the Gnat, our favorite southern pest, happens the first weekend in May. Camilla’s Gnat Days evolved from the Georgia Corn Festival in the mid 1980’s.  The festival kicks off with a 5K walk/run and continues on the next day with a festival complete with arts & crafts, food & drink vendors galore, live stage entertainment and children’s activities such as a pet show & a bike race and wraps up with an “Under the Oaks” dance with a live band. If you would like to attend or be a vendor, contact the Camilla Chamber of Commerce.

Pelham Wildlife Festival

The annual Pelham Wildlife Festival is the first Saturday in October. Great food, arts & craft vendors from all over the South, singing and dancing, 5 K Run and a Parade.  There will be attractions and fun for all ages! The children’s activities are in a central location where they can be kids.  We wrap up with a street dance will featuring local talent.

If you would like to attend or be a vendor, contact the Pelham Chamber of Commerce.

65 Mile Yard Sale

This event is held the second Saturday in November, this annual yard sale has plenty to offer. 65 miles of antiques, crafts, children’s clothing, furniture, and much, much more. If you would like more information or to set up a booth, contact the Camilla Chamber of Commerce.
