Named by Raquet Magazine as one of the leading tennis communities in the nation, many Mitchell County citizens enjoy tennis on the 9 county maintained courts. Mitchell County is one of the few counties employing a full time tennis professional and has leagues for Men and Ladies as well as children.
David Buerkle, Mitchell County Tennis Pro
David Buerkle is the tennis professional and can be reached at 229-336-2353. He is an excellent coach for children and adults alike. All programs do not rquire anyone to bring their own racquets. The count has plent of raquest for people to borrow. Private lessons are available to children and adults of all ages with over 100 students in the program. Tennis and Swim camps are held for ages 6 - 12 in June and July. Tennis Academies are held for ages 13 and up in June and July. Contact David to sign up your student.
We are very excited about the four members of the ARC who recently traveled to the Special Olympics in tennis. Two of the four received a silver medal and two received a bronze. These members were coached by David and we’re very proud of them!

Men’s Doubles Night -
Every Monday night at 7 p.m. Men’s nights are held in Camilla and Pelham.
Intermediate Academy -
Mondays & Wednesdays from 5 - 6:30 p.m.

Camilla Pro Tennis Invitational
Camilla, listed as one of the top tennis towns by Racquet Magazine, is host to one of the highlights of the senior pro tour each year. This tournament has attracted over two dozen touring professionals for over twenty-five years and has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Boys and Girls Club, ARC, and other worthy local causes
